Goals This lecture is to aims to give basic computer usage and knowledge which will help students in their daily life and occupational cariers . In this scope, it is investigated computer's hardware and software with office programs. At the end of this lecture, students are ensured to have enough knowledge for being able to work in information technology environment.
Contents Introduction to Computer (Definitions, historical development, computer types); Number and Coding Systems (Bit and byte concepts); Computer's Hardware (Mainboard, processor, memory, harddisc, monitor, mouse etc.); Computer's Software (Software’s types, operating systems, application programs, programing languages); Operating System Softwares (DOS/Windows operating systems and applications); Windows Operating System (File-directory concepts, control panel, antivirüs programs, compressing programs); Office Programs and Applications: Word Processor (Microsoft Word and its applications), Electronic Table Program (Microsoft Excel and its applications).
