Goals The course includes translating advanced reading passages taken from academic literature about their own profession, guessing the meanings of unknown words by using skimming and scanning techniques they have learnt in YDL 285 course, reading for gist, reading for specific information, improving their vocabulary and coping with complex linguistic structures by making advanced vocational translation, instilling in the students the ability to improve their langauge skills by enabling them to gain skills and confidence necessary for self study, learning vocational presentation techniques and improving presentation skills with hands on experience.
Contents This course includes translation and presentation skills mostly.

1 Students will be able to interpret English texts examining the latest developments in working life.
2 Students will be able to translate texts referring to their vocational areas.

5 Students will be able to analyze English occupational texts written in fields such as political science and public administration, management, economy, occupational health, workplace safety, human rights, collective bargaining regarding their occupational areas.
