Goals The aim of the course is to analyze components of social structure, the interrelations between them, social process and social change with regard to Turkey Case and to evaluate them periodically.
Contents The course content consists of the theoretical background of social structure, the basic characteristics of Turkish social structure change, the moderni,zation process from the Ottoman period to the Republican period, the characteristics of politics and beuracracy, the civil sociatry and its problems, economy, culture, politics and social structure, the impacts of them to social structure, industrialization process, urbanization dynsmics and its impacts on social structure, globalization and Social problems of Turkey.

1 Students can evaluate Turkish social structure both with reference to the characteristics particular to Turket at the national level and to other countries at the global level.
2 Students can analyze the process of current social structure change depending on their knowledge on the indicators of social structure change in Turkey.
3 Students can evaluate the social structural change process in relation with areas such as politics,economy, urbanization, development, sociology based on an interdisciplinary understanding.
4 Students can criticize the history of Turkey from the perspective of course context.
5 Students can make further research based on their information on the basic and additional academic resources.
