Goals The aim of this course is to give students knowledge of the sources, processes and pollutants affecting the soil and groundwater quality as well as soil and groundwater remediation technologies.
Contents Mineral concept, types of rocks, degredation of rocks and soil formation processes, horizons of soil and properties, Types of soil, Physical and chemical properties of soil, dispersion of water in soil and term of aquifer, groundwater and soil pollution sources, importans pollutants: hydrocarbons, volatile and semi volatile organics, pesticides, heavy metals, movement of pollutants in soil and monitoring of pollutants, Technologies for soil and groundwater treatment

1 At the end of the course, students should define the pollutants and sources of pollutants that cause soil and groundwater pollution.
2 At the end of the course, students should explain the transport of pollutants in soil and groundwater.
